Snap Rotation constrains the random rotation of objects to a fixed set of angles. Instead of freely rotating to any angle, objects snap to multiples of the angle you specify — for example, 0°, 90°, 180°, and 270° when using a 90° snap. You can enable snapping on any combination of axes.

Settings

  • Rotate Axis X — enable snapped rotation around the X axis (tilt forward/backward). Default is off.
  • Rotate Axis Y — enable snapped rotation around the Y axis (spin around vertical). Default is on.
  • Rotate Axis Z — enable snapped rotation around the Z axis (tilt left/right). Default is off.
  • Snap Rotation Angle — the angle increment in degrees. Objects will only rotate to multiples of this value (e.g. 90 gives four possible orientations: 0°, 90°, 180°, 270°). Range: 0.1–360. Default is 90.
Use a 90° snap for modular building pieces or grid-aligned props. Use 45° for objects that look good at diagonal angles as well.
