You can follow the normal MegaWorld workflow with Polaris Terrain, but there is one important limitation in the original documentation. Follow the same general setup you would use in the regular getting started workflow, but use Simple Filters for the filtering stage.

Important limitation

The original MegaWorld documentation notes that Mask Filter support for Polaris may be limited or may not be available in the same way as on Unity Terrain. Because of that, when you work with Polaris:
  • prefer Simple Filters first;
  • validate the result directly in the scene;
  • avoid assuming that every terrain-based mask workflow from Unity Terrain behaves the same way.

If a setup works on Unity Terrain but behaves differently on Polaris, check the filter type first. The safest first troubleshooting step is to switch the workflow back to Simple Filters.
