Align rotates objects to follow the slope of the surface they are placed on. Instead of always standing perfectly upright, objects tilt to match the terrain angle — making placement look natural on hills and uneven ground. You can control how strongly the alignment is applied, and optionally randomize it within a range so objects don’t all tilt identically.

Settings

  • Use Normal Weight — when enabled, the alignment is blended between the object’s current rotation and the surface normal direction. When disabled, the object fully aligns to the normal with no blending.
  • Min Max Range — when enabled, the normal weight is picked randomly between a minimum and maximum value each time an object spawns. Disable this to use a single fixed weight instead.
  • Min Weight to Normal — the minimum blend amount toward the surface normal. A value of 0 means the object keeps its current rotation at the low end of the range.
  • Max Weight to Normal (shown as Weight to Normal when Min Max Range is off) — the maximum blend amount toward the surface normal. A value of 1 fully aligns the object to the slope. A value of 0.2 applies a subtle tilt.
For grass and small plants, a Max Weight to Normal of around 0.1–0.3 gives a natural look without objects leaning too far on steep terrain.
